KE Wilson Art
As a child, roaming across paddocks and meandering along dirt tracks, I was often in a world of my own, immersed in the sensory experience of place. Living on farming properties, to get anywhere we had to travel through the landscape – bouncing on the back seat of the Kingswood I would be peering out the window, eating up the magic of ever-changing scenes. Views across the land, the sight of big sky, became sources of joy.
I paint to express a sense of place. Living with a condition that limits my physical capacity, I paint when I am able. When pain shrinks my orbit, art expands my world.
Layers of colour and semi-abstracted forms invite the viewer to respond. These works have been referred to as 'dreamlike,' 'peaceful,' 'evocative,' and 'enticing.' In depicting the natural world, I aim to highlight its intrinsic value, its inherent worth.
